3. Reservation

    1. Applicable for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, PwBD
    2. Suitability of posts for PwBD candidates is defined per the RPwD Act, 2016

4. Nationality / Citizenship

Eligible candidates:

    1. Indian citizen, or
    2. Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
    3. Tibetan refugee, or
    4. Person of Indian origin migrated from listed countries with eligibility certificate

5. Age Limit

Age varies by post (18-27/30/32 years). Relaxation as per category:

6. Educational Qualification

    1. All posts: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
    2. JSO: Bachelor's with 60% in Maths at 12th level OR Degree with Statistics as a subject
    3. Statistical Investigator-II: Degree with Statistics in all 3 years/6 semesters
    4. Research Assistant (NHRC): Bachelor's + desirable: 1 yr research experience OR degree in Law/Human Rights

7. How to Apply

    1. Online only via: https://ssc.gov.in
    2. New One-Time Registration (OTR) required
    3. Live photograph capture during application (no cap/spectacles)
    4. Signature Upload: 6 cm x 2 cm (JPEG, 10-20 KB)

8. Application Fee

    1. Rs. 100/- (online only)
    2. Exempted: SC/ST, Women, PwBD, ESM
    3. Correction Charges: Rs. 200 (1st time), Rs. 500 (2nd time)

9. Scheme of Examination

Tier-I (CBE)

  • Duration: 60 minutes (80 minutes for PwBD)
  • Sections:
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning -- 25 Qs, 50 marks
    • General Awareness -- 25 Qs, 50 marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude -- 25 Qs, 50 marks
    • English Comprehension -- 25 Qs, 50 marks
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer

Tier-II (CBE)

Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts):

  • Section-I:
    • Module-I: Mathematical Abilities -- 30 Qs, 90 marks
    • Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence -- 30 Qs, 90 marks
  • Section-II:
    • Module-I: English Language and Comprehension -- 45 Qs, 135 marks
    • Module-II: General Awareness -- 25 Qs, 75 marks
  • Section-III:
    • Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test -- 20 Qs, 60 marks (qualifying only)
    • Module-II: DEST (Data Entry Speed Test --Qualifying)*

Paper-II (for JSO/Statistical Investigator Grade II only):

  • Statistics: 100 Qs -- 200 marks -- 2 hours duration
  • Paper-I is compulsory; Paper-II is only for JSO and Statistical Investigator posts.
  • All sections must be qualified in Paper-I.
  • Negative Marking:
    • Paper-I: 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, II, and Module-I of Section-III
    • Paper-II: 0.50 mark for each wrong answer

PwBD Candidates' Time Allowance:

    1. Section-I and Section-II: 1 hour 20 minutes each
    2. Computer Knowledge Module: 20 minutes
    3. DEST: 20 minutes + 5 minutes compensatory time (if eligible for scribe)

DEST (Data Entry Skill Test):

    1. 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes (20 minutes + 5 minutes compensatory time (if eligible for scribe)
    2. Mandatory and qualifying
    3. Higher qualifying standards for specific posts (e.g. TA, ASO, Executive Assistant)
    4. PwBD-OH exempt from DEST if certified unfit (except in posts requiring proficiency)

Note: VH candidates with scribes will be provided a passage reader during DEST.
